Cheers For Nothing drop new single “All Season” ahead of debut EP

Today, 6 December, Bay Area emo-punk quartet Cheers For Nothing released their new single “All Season,” giving fans a second glimpse into their debut EP, New Highs, Same Lows, set to drop soon. Following last month’s punchy track “Kings and Queens,” the band continues to establish their sound—a vibrant blend of pop-punk energy and modern emo introspection.

“All Season” feels like the kind of song built for late-night drives or screaming along in a crowded venue. Justin Seo’s vocal delivery is both raw and controlled, paired seamlessly with Ricky Chu’s intricate yet driving lead guitar riffs. Beneath it all, Leon Andre Saqui’s bassline and Devon Sablan’s drumming lay a tight and relentless foundation, carrying the track’s momentum from start to finish.

Lyrically, “All Season” explores introspection and resilience. The song opens with Seo reflecting, “Right about now, I fall back to my headspace, where you’re always around,” immediately drawing listeners into a deeply personal narrative. As the song progresses, it grapples with the emotional tug of unresolved feelings: “Not over the fact that I’m all over you lately, miss you more than I’m used to.” The chorus builds on this vulnerability with an anthemic refrain: “As the seasons change, the only constant is that I’m not feeling like myself anymore.” These lines resonate with anyone caught in the push-and-pull of growth and nostalgia.

Speaking about the EP’s overarching themes, the band shared that New Highs, Same Lows reflects the contrasts we all face in life. “It’s about how we keep pushing forward, even when the same old struggles resurface,” they explained. The EP promises to dive into these moments of tension—where hope and frustration collide—with tracks that balance catchy melodies and emotionally charged lyrics.

Cheers For Nothing’s approach to production also stands out. The polished yet dynamic mix brings out the best in each member’s performance, creating a sound that feels immediate and impactful. If “All Season” is any indication, the full EP will be packed with the kind of tracks that leave a lasting impression.

The music video for “All Season,” perfectly captures the energy of not only the track but the band themselves.

Cheers For Nothing is composed of Justin Seo (vocals, rhythm guitar), Ricky Chu (lead guitar), Leon Andre Saqui (bass), and Devon Sablan (drums). The group is quickly carving out a space for themselves with their relatable lyrics, infectious energy, and knack for crafting songs that hit the sweet spot between nostalgia and fresh perspectives.
