Comastatic sign to Hopeless Records and release new single ‘Self Sabotage’ featuring Down and Out

Zurich-based alternative rock duo Comastatic have announced their signing to Hopeless Records, marking an exciting new chapter in their musical journey. To celebrate the occasion, they’ve released their first single under the label, "Self Sabotage," which features guest vocals from Australian pop-punk band Down and Out.

Vocalist Mattia Di Paolo shared his excitement about the new partnership:

"We’re beyond excited to announce that we’ve signed with Los Angeles-based record label, Hopeless Records! The bands on the Hopeless Records roster have shaped us as musicians and as people, and we’re stoked to start this new chapter with such an amazing team!"

"Self Sabotage," produced by Stevie Knight (known for his work with Stand Atlantic and Yours Truly), delivers a high-energy, infectious sound, blending rock and pop-punk influences into a powerful anthem. The track tackles the internal conflict between outward success and inner turmoil.

According to Di Paolo:

"Self Sabotage is a raw exploration of the tension between outward perfection and inner chaos. The song breaks down the paradox of having an ideal life but feeling constantly unsettled by an underlying mental struggle."

The track's candid lyrics reflect the emotional struggle of self-destructive choices and the difficulty of finding peace amidst personal conflict, offering a direct look at the challenge of reconciling one’s internal battles with external expectations.

The accompanying music video for "Self Sabotage" further amplifies the song’s intensity, bringing the themes of mental struggle and self-reflection to life through visual storytelling.

Comastatic, consisting of Di Paolo and guitarist Giuliano "Jules" Luongo, formed in 2022 with a vision to give voice to those caught between chaos and vulnerability. Their early releases, including "Toxic Energy," "Fix It All," "Coma," and "Misery," have already captured significant attention, surpassing 700,000 streams globally. The duo's collaborations with bands such as Swiss group All To Get Her, along with performances at major festivals like Greenfield and Summerside, have further solidified their growing presence in the alternative rock scene.

The band's journey has seen them take bold steps, including travelling 6000 miles to Los Angeles to work with producers Stevie Knight, Jon Lundin (Fever333, Point North), and Matt Malpass (Blink-182). This boldness and willingness to collaborate have been central to their evolving sound, now reaching an even wider audience with their debut release on Hopeless Records.

"Self Sabotage" is available now across all streaming platforms, marking a new beginning for Comastatic and offering a glimpse into their future as part of the prestigious Hopeless Records roster.
