Episode 42: Manchester Punk Festival vs Reverie Fest
Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was a little special as in our first hour it was our Manchester Punk Festival vs Reverie Fest special before service returned to normal in the second hour.
I opened the show with “I See You” the brand new single from Lawi Anywar. Lawi opened up this weekend’s Reverie Fest with a beautiful set on Friday evening. Following “I See You”, it was then non-stop artists from both MPF and Reverie Fest such as CLT DRP, OTHER HALF, Exit Child from Reverie and Toodles and The Hectic Pity, Lakes, and Martha from MPF/ Before the news break, I wrapped up the first half with “Merch Girl” the brand new bangers from London/Bristol punks FRESH who played an epic set at MPF on Friday, “Merch Girl” is the title track from FRESH’s forthcoming new EP that is due to drop next month.
Post-news break, it was back to business as usual as our show returned to its normal format I kicked the hour off with “Hit and Run” by Mike Kinsella’s solo project Owen. “Hit and Run” was one of two tracks that Owen dropped this week serving as a preview of their forthcoming Falls of Sioux album that drops later next month. After "Hit and Run," the second half of the show packed punches with tracks from Bad Breeding, Lake Malice, Murder Club, and a classic unsigned spotlight track, “Medicate” by The Zebecks, if you want to keep tabs on the band go follow them on their Instagram page @thezebecks. Wrapping up this week's show was the brilliant WSilhouettes in MotionW by SeeYouSpaceCowboy. SeeYoSpaceCowboy drop their brand new album Coup De Grace later next month.
