Noah and the Loners took to the stage in the heart of London at the intimate 229 on 19 February, a venue renowned for hosting various live events, from club nights and award ceremonies to amazing gigs like the one we just witnessed.
The rising stars have genuine passion and talent, rightfully earning them a place on major radio stations, hinting at a successful trajectory, pointing only upwards. Their performance at the cosy 229 offered an atmosphere of love and community. The smaller venue allowed for some beautiful pre-show interactions as the band met with friends, fans, and family – Real wholesome vibes.
Noah and the Loners' songs and lyrics were captivating, addressing themes of social justice, toxic masculinity, and the intricacies of love. Themes that clearly resonated with the audience, who passionately sang back word after word. The Gen-Z band's ability to connect with their audience was evident – they knew exactly what their fans wanted and delivered it with unwavering energy.
It's evident the love for music makes these talented young musicians tick. A touching moment occurred when they encouraged fans to support them by purchasing merchandise, mentioning the fact that they are also university students. This genuine display emphasized that their pursuit of music is fuelled by pure love and enjoyment.
This was so heart-warming and reminded me that musicians aren’t always doing it for the money but for pure love and enjoyment. Noah and the Loners don’t have to be making music, they could just be studying – but no, their love for live music really shows.
Amber Welsh on bass may have been on stage left but she owned the stage and stood out to me – don’t get me wrong all four of these united loners had me in awe – but Amber would not stop stomping around the stage, vibrating the venue with her heavy bass playing skills.
You should keep your ears open for this band when listening to the radio, a truly talented quartet and if you get a chance to see them live, we applaud you to grab that chance. This is a band that will give you a night to remember filled with mesmerising alternative punk rock, infused with a touch of indie pop.
