Takedown Festival announces 2025 return with star-studded lineup

Takedown Festival is set to make a triumphant return in 2025 after a brief hiatus, bringing with it a powerhouse lineup of rock and metal acts. Scheduled for Friday 4 April, and Saturday 5 April 2025, the festival will once again take over Portsmouth Guildhall, with tickets going on sale on Friday, 30 August, at 9 A.M. BST.

After the cancellation of the 2024 edition due to ongoing construction at the venue, the festival organizers are thrilled to announce a comeback that promises to be bigger and better than ever. Headlining the two-day event are the unique Elvana, known for their Elvis-fronted Nirvana covers, and the Kris Barras Band, led by the former MMA fighter turned rock frontman.

Kris Barras shares:

“Takedown Festival has been one I’ve wanted to do for a while. They always put out a great line up featuring the best Rock and Metal bands the UK has to offer. It’ll be an honour to headline the Friday night”

Joining them on the bill are Welsh alt-rockers Dream State, who have expressed their excitement for the event. Jessie Powell of Dreamstate said:

“Very excited to be finally playing Takedown festival. The line up looks stacked and we are ready to shred the room to pieces. See you in the pit!”

Other notable acts include MOBO-nominated alt-metal sensation Kid Bookie, rising metalcore stars Acres, our absolute faves Lake Malice, InVisions, URNE, The Nightmares, Ferocious Dog, Blanket, and many more.

The 2025 edition marks the first time Takedown Festival will span two days, a testament to the event's growing popularity and the organizers' commitment to delivering a top-tier experience for rock and metal fans.

Kai and Sarah Harris of Takedown Festival Ltd shared their enthusiasm, saying:

“We are unbelievably happy to be able to share the line up for Takedown Festival 2025. This year has been particularly economically turbulent for everyone and to date this year 60 UK festivals have been cancelled, postponed or lost and we feel incredibly fortunate to be able to return with a line up we are very proud of. We would like to thank our community for the support we have received this year and we hope to see you in the pit!”

The festival's return follows its highly successful 2023 comeback, which featured headliners Sleep Token and Skindred, marking Takedown's reemergence as a significant player in the UK rock festival scene. The 2023 event also saw the festival nominated for Best Small Festival, Best Metropolitan Festival, and the Grassroots Festival Awards at the UK Festival Awards.

Takedown Festival 2025 promises to be a landmark event, with its expanded two-day format and an exciting lineup that spans the best of rock and metal. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early for what is sure to be an unforgettable weekend of music and mayhem.
